(Frank Dunlop and Jim Dale) The Ideal Husband (Oscar Wilde) Lady Windemere's Fan (Oscar Wilde) Materials: variety of drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 2H, etc.), erasure, pencil sharpener, small set of watercolors (tube), variety of watercolor brushes (0,2,8,12,etc.), watercolor paper (at least 8 ½”x11”), paper scissors, glue stick Course Objective: The student will have an understanding of the elements and principles of design. The student will be able to analyze a script and apply the principles of design to character appropriate costumes. Attendance: Attendance is expected at all classes and mandatory on presentation days. You are allowed one absence. A second absence will constitute a drop of one half of a letter grade of the final grade. Each additional absence will result in an additional ½ grade drop. Three tardies (5 minutes or more late) will equal one absence. Note: Late projects will be presented with a maximum of one-half credit possible.. Academic Misconduct: All acts of dishonesty in any work constitute academic misconduct. This includes, but is not limited to, cheating, plagiarism, fabrication of information, misrepresentations, and abetting any of the above. The Academic Misconduct Disciplinary Policy will be followed in any such case. This policy is outlined in the student affairs handbook, which can be obtained from the Student Life Office in the Ferguson Center. Prerequisites: Instructor approval. Quizzes/Class Participation 50 pts. Total 700 pts. Grades will be based on a 10% scale. 630-700 = A. 559-629 = B, etc. Please note: This syllabus is subject to change.
